Surviving to Thriving
💜💟 Our Surviving to Thriving group starts on Tues 4th Nov for 8 weeks. It's a safe space for women who have survived domestic abuse and want to talk about their experiences, learn new coping skills, and to make positive changes. We'll be reflecting on how difficult experiences can impact us, and looking at ways to deal with anxiety, anger, and shame. We'll also be exploring how to build healthier relationships with others and ourselves. Booking is ESSENTIAL. Conversational English classes for women with English as a second language [2026 – Evening Classes]
Conversational English classes are a relaxed and totally FREE opportunity to practise English for any woman with English as a second language. Classes are run by students from STAR UoN (Student Action for Refugees, University of Nottingham) in a fun, relaxed and enriching environment.

This 8 week writing course will help you to learn more about writing as a tool for your well-being. Writing can help you to sort through your thoughts, process your emotions, and express yourself. And you never know you might have some fun along the way!

NWC – Own My Life (Spring 2026 Term)
The Own My Life programme with NWC is an innovative, creative and educational 12-week course for women. It supports women to regain ownership of their lives when they have been subjected to abuse or violence by a partner.
FREE Legal Advice Clinics
Nottingham Law School’s NLS Legal are back with FREE one-off legal advice clinics at Nottingham Women's Centre. Student Advisors and experienced Legal Supervisors from Nottingham Law School will provide help with Employment, Family, and Civil issues (including housing and welfare benefits).
Zumba
This course offers fun and energetic Zumba sessions based on Latin dance rhythms. Each session includes a warm-up, easy-to-follow choreographed routines, and a cool-down. The focus is on movement, joy, and well-being — not on performance or perfection.
Pilates
Come and try Pilates with Tina from When Women Gather CIC. An accessible mobilising, stretching, and strengthening session exploring standing and mat-based exercises. Mats provided, or bring your own. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in and bring water to stay hydrated.
Art Studio
These monthly workshops will focus on self-expression through the use of paint, drawing, modelling and more, whilst exploring the creative potential and innovative ideas of participants.
