Volunteering with us
Renew is staffed by a mixture of qualified, experienced counsellors and trainees who are registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), or other relevant professional body.
Volunteer counsellors are DBS checked, insured and have regular clinical supervision outside the centre.
We make a charge of £25 a month which contributes to running costs, ongoing training and yearly reports. For a higher monthly fee of £55 we can also offer in-house clinical supervision – you can get in touch to find out whether this would be appropriate for your training provider’s requirements.
Sessions are offered between 9am-5pm on all weekdays as well as Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and Saturday afternoons.
A really friendly, welcoming team that feels safe.
How to apply
We recruit volunteer counsellors continually throughout the year.
We welcome applications from students in at least the second year of training on a recognised counselling training course, as well as qualified counsellors looking to gain hours for accreditation. We are especially interested in receiving applications from women who speak additional languages, are from diverse cultures and LGBTQ+ communities, and are able to work via telephone and video platforms.
