Volunteers are an integral part of the work of the Centre and without their generosity, time and broad range of skills we would not be the organisation we are today. We estimate that volunteers save us around £60,000 in wages every year and that means we can support women to do even more amazing things!
We highly value all our volunteers and work in partnership to support them to work towards their goals whatever these may be, e.g., developing work based confidence, meeting new friends, gaining practical skills or progress into a career. We understand that it can be daunting to return to work after spending time bringing up children or having a period of time away from work due to illness or another reason. Volunteering can help to develop new skills, maintain skills during periods of unemployment or increase your confidence to return to work.
We have volunteer up to 70 volunteers at any one time whose roles include: counsellors, peer support workers, tutors and teachers, administrators, researchers, marketing officers, student placements and event support to name but a few.
For more information on our volunteering service or if you have a volunteering project idea/request please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0115 941 1475.
Current Volunteering Opportunities
We have a range of long and short term volunteering roles and opportunities across all aspects of the Centre’s work, from counselling placements to peer support volunteers on courses. We also occasionally have opportunities for volunteering remotely and at events.
Sadly due to high levels of demand we are unable to accept general applications and expressions of interest; however, we post details of any available opportunities on our Facebook page or please join ‘do-it.org’ where we advertise current roles as and when they arise, alternatively contact us on email@example.com to join our mailing list.
