Volunteering

We are looking for volunteers to work with us. Here are just a few of our opportunities - Look and find the right fit for you:

Creche Workers: We need people to support our crèche worker – some experience would be useful and we will organize a CRB check.

Decorators: We need to decorate large areas of the centre.

Events Organisers: We are planning several fundraising events, such as a fashion show which we need help to organize, plan and carry out. We also hold annual events such as a garden party and International Women's Day and need help organising and coordinating

Fundraisers: Fundraising – if you have some skills and can offer some time we would be delighted to have you.

Gardeners: Garden needs seasonal upkeep and work.

Librarians: The library (of archive feminist info/magazines and general books) needs cataloguing, sorting, and a system devising.

Outreach Workers: If you have a knowledge or experience of community or voluntary groups, we are looking for people to carry out outreach work for us – visiting other groups to give information regarding our services and courses and to find out about needs of these groups.

We can offer support but do need confident, articulate people who are able to travel to carry out this role.

Promoters: Promotional stands – we hold these in shopping centers, festivals, and at events. We need people to give information and help staff these.

Publicity Aids: Publicity – we need people to deliver posters, flyers etc to city centre venues and outlying community centers.

Receptionists: Reception – we need reliable, organised, polite people to staff the reception when our staff member is busy. We need people on all days of the week – either am or pm or both (9-12 and 12-3).

Researchers: Sourcing and researching funding opportunities – you will need to be IT literate and a good communicator. We need people who can absorb information and apply it for this role.

Trustees: We are looking for Trustees to work with us on a variety of projects that will give YOU the opportunity to:

  • broaden your horizons
  • learn new skills
  • work, as part of a team, with other women towards a common goal
  • be part of making positive changes happen
  • be involved in community activities
  • network and meet other like-minded women

Finally if you have something you would like to do/offer we let us know and we will try and respond to your ideas. This is your centre and we welcome your involvement.
