International Women’s Day 2019 at Nottingham Women’s Centre

All women are cordially invited to join us for the International Women’s Day activities and this is what we have got planned for you:

 

Progression and empowerment room

1 – 1.40pm AND 3pm-3.40pm – Ella will perform her wonderful poetry and follow on with a zine making and Haiku workshop
1.45 – 2.15pm AND 3.45-4.15pm – Penny and her life-story (please be aware this empowering talk about her life will include details of domestic abuse)
2.20 – 2.50pm AND 4.20-4.40pm – Story-telling with Deirdre

Inner Peace room

Meditation with Rosemary and Polly from Realise women. Sessions start at 12.30pm. Then ½ hourly with the last session at 3.30pm

Women in Politics room

12.30 – 4pm Stall by our wonderful Feminist Library

1 – 2.30pm – Talks by local women in politics, with time for your questions afterwards.
Confirmed attendees – Lillian Greenwood MP – Labour, Cllr Kay Cutts MBE – Conservative, Cllr Amanda Fisher – Labour, Ruth Hyde – CEO Broxtowe Borough Council, Rosemary Jarrett- Secretary of Arboretum Ward Labour Party, Representative from Nottingham East Labour Party Women’s Forum.

2.30 – 3.30pm – Feminist Songs, Chants and Slogans
