Counselling

The Counselling Service run by the Nottingham Women’s Centre is staffed by trainee counsellors, all of whom are undertaking a Level 7 BACP/UKCP accredited training course. The service is open to any woman, who needs some support to address problems she is facing in her life. Women come with a variety of different problems; there is none too big or too small.

If you are interested in attending counselling with us, please contact us to request a referral pack, which will be emailed/posted to you. Counselling is charged on a means tested basis and the current fee scale is included in the referral pack.

Once you return the referral pack to us, you will be placed on our waiting list and a counsellor will contact you as soon as they are in a position to see you. An assessment is undertaken by a counsellor to work out if our service is able to support you and that you are happy with the counsellor you have been allocated.

From here, you will arrange to see your counsellor on a regular basis, at a time and day that suits you both. There is no limit to the amount of sessions you are given but you will review things with your counsellor on a regular basis and things are altered as and when your needs change.
