The Counselling Service at Nottingham Women’s Centre is part of the RENEW project and is staffed by trainee counsellors, all of whom are undertaking a Level 7 BACP/UKCP accredited training course. The service is open to any woman, who needs some support to address problems she is facing in her life. Women come with a variety of different problems; there is none too big or too small. We offer up to 24 sessions of individual counselling and the opportunity to take part in group therapy. To find out more about our counselling service, please download our information booklet here:
Please be aware that our counselling service is closed to new referrals over the summer period while we manage our waiting list. We will be taking new counselling referrals from September. All other aspects of Renew activities and group work are continuing as usual, please get in touch for further information.
Women’s Therapy Group
This is run by our sessional therapist Nikki and provides 6 months of group work in a relaxed and supportive setting, mixing creative activities and group support allowing each person to be heard and validated. Groups help a compassionate network to emerge and group members can be a valuable source of encouragement to each member. There is a maximum of 10 women per group. The therapy group is open to women who have previously accessed 1:1 therapeutic support with Renew or other agencies. If you are not undergoing therapy with Renew but are interested in the group please contact reception to book in an appointment with our group therapist.
If you are interested in accessing any part of RENEW please give us a call on 0115 941 1475 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
If you wish to access counselling or group therapy you will be invited to a short appointment to discuss your needs, the parts of RENEW you’d like to be involved in and any other support you might need.
