Job Title:         Peripatetic Welfare Rights Officer

Hours:             37 hours per week (open to job share)

Salary:             £20,767 – £22,701 per annum

This job is open to women only (under the Equality Act 2010, Part 1, Schedule 9)

Nottingham Women’s Centre is run by women, for women and we’ve been around for over 40 years. We aim to help all women to gain the confidence and skills to achieve their potential and become stronger and more independent. We provide a safe and supportive environment in which women can do this, either by taking part in training or activities, getting support and services, or campaigning and becoming active in bringing about change.

The post holder will provide high-quality advice and support to women facing hardship and crisis at locations across Nottinghamshire.

The post holder will work as part of a broader team, delivering a Big Lottery funded project which aims to:

  1. Provide advice and advocacy to women facing hardship and other forms of crisis, with a tailored, gender-aware approach, delivered at locations where women already engage.
  2. Enable women and women’s organisations to shape services and influence the external decisions that impact on their lives or operation.
  3. Upskill our organisations, ensuring that we all deliver the highest possible standard of advice and support to the women who most need it.

Volunteers needed for Reclaim the Night

Reclaim the night is happening on November the 18th and we need you to join in Nottingham’s biggest and loudest annual grassroots protest against all forms of violence against women and girls!

A women-only protest march will stomp, sing, dance and shout its way from Forest Recreation Ground to Market square. The event will end with a Reclaim Rally with women only speakers which will celebrate and support women’s self-organised action against violence. Women are invited to assemble themselves proudly at the Council House steps for this event. After the rally, women are welcome at Nottingham Women’s Centre to get warm, have a bite to eat and socialise at the after party.

Meet at 6.30pm outside Forest Rec Pavilion. Accompanied children of all genders are welcome.
